CARRIBEAN APEX CHALLENGE

The Caribbean Apex Challenge is the flagship event of LIGNUM Propulsion. It is a high-stakes, data-driven aerospace simulation designed to test the limits of student engineering through the lens of environmental responsibility. Unlike traditional rocket launches, the Apex Challenge prioritizes precision, reuse, and scientific integrity over simple altitude.

Competition Goals

Structural Integrity Challenge

Teams must design a specialized recovery system to transport a fragile egg safely. To succeed, the egg must be recovered completely intact after touchdown, demonstrating a mastery of structural integrity and shock absorption.

Precision & Data Integrity

Technical success is defined by flight accuracy and electronic integration. Teams must hit the target altitude exactly, predict their landing coordinates, and successfully retrieve atmospheric data from the onboard computer.
